Cogeneration Systems
Green Contracting recently completed work on a Cogeneration Plant, located at a highly accredited university in Maryland. The project details included the installation of new, Owner furnished cogeneration equipment into a new building addition at the existing campus.

The equipment used consisted of one (1) new solar 4600 KW power-generating turbine, one (1) new 25,000 #/hr. heat recovery steam generator, one (1) new natural gas compressor, and all associated mechanical, electrical, controls, and civil requirements.

Green implemented specialized rigging methods due to the size and weights of the new equipment, primarily due to site conditions and space the equipment had to be placed in. Another concern of Green was the 1st floor concrete slab, making floor loading the equipment an issue. The floor had to be plated in order to distribute the weight of the equipment evenly.
