3500 Ton Chiller
In December of 2009, Green was awarded a project that consisted of an addition to a government agency’s Steam and Chilled Water Plant. This was a “ground up” renovation to accommodate the installation of a new 3,500 ton Chiller. Green Contracting was responsible for all work on site, including the supervision of all certified testing, scheduling, quality control, records, and overseeing all work performed by subcontractors.

Green’s installation responsibilities included the plate exchanger, chilled and condenser water split pumps, vertical condenser turbine pumps, unit heaters, chiller, refrigerant recovery, condenser water sand filter system, air handler unit and all associated chilled, condenser, heating and hot water piping systems.

Along with the chiller addition responsibilities, Green was responsible for the supervision and installation of a new electrical building and transformer pad to support the addition’s electrical power requirement. Green was also in charge of a new concrete basin that supported an additional two (2) new cooling towers that would assist in condensing the additional load of condenser water for the new chiller.
