Green Contracting has been awarded a $12,900,000.00 contract for the mechanical construction of the new Central Utility Plant at Ft. Detrick, Maryland. The scope of the project includes installing five (5)-600 HP fire tube boilers, primary and secondary pumping, two (2)-2000 ton chillers, three (3)– Cooling Towers, five (5)-Diesel powered generators, and associated plumbing and HVAC work for the Central Utility Plant and Office Area.

In addition Green Contracting will be installing approximately three (3) miles of direct buried steam, condensate and chilled water piping along the associated piping that will be installed in seven manholes.

Work is scheduled to be completed in January 2008.

Utility Infrastructure Upgrade

Green Contracting has been awarded a $7,382,000.00 contract for the renovation of the Central Utility Plant. The scope of the project includes replacing the existing boilers with three (3)- 350 HP firetube boilers, providing new primary and secondary pumping for the hot water and chilled water systems. The chiller plant upgrades includes constructing a new building, relocating the two (2) existing 500 ton chillers, installing two (2) new 500 ton chillers and new primary and secondary pumping, and new cooling towers.

In addition to the mechanical upgrades, the electrical systems is being upgraded to include new Motor Control Centers and transformers along with upgraded power distribution.

Work is scheduled to be completed in June 2008.
